What does success cost? And who pays for it?
Investors in the Lancaster County Economic Development Corporation include Lancaster County (through public funds), the municipalities within the county, and private sector members. The LCEDC has one of the lowest economic development budgets in the region, and additional funding is needed to become less dependent on taxpayer dollars. The goal of the LCEDC is to generate more support from the companies that will ultimately benefit from additional development throughout the county.
LCEDC’s goal is to double its budget in order to build a portfolio of land, buildings, and other “must haves” to attract business to the county. By maintaining administrative and operating expenses at the current level, the LCEDC will be able to put these additional resources toward marketing and recruiting efforts, and also invest in the county’s infrastructure, in order to enhance Lancaster County’s position in a competitive marketplace.
Who’s behind all this success? And how do they do it?
The Lancaster County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to recruiting and retaining capital investment and jobs in Lancaster County, South Carolina. Our team consists of site location professionals prepared to quickly assess a client’s location needs and formulate a package of sites or buildings that will meet these needs. We can provide some of the most competitive incentive packages in the Southeastern United States.
Our primary objective is to identify target companies and educate them on the opportunities and benefits that Lancaster County can provide for their business, as well as for their employees. Our ultimate goal is to significantly enhance the quality of life for residents in the region through recruitment of new companies and expansion of existing industries.
Currently, portions of Lancaster County are enjoying the benefits of Charlotte’s natural expansion as the city continues to grow. However, the LCEDC must continue to recruit companies for locations throughout the county. Additional funding is needed to enhance our marketing and research efforts, as well as to further develop spec buildings and infrastructure that our potential clients need.
The LCEDC has a plan for additional development, and your business is an integral part of our success. Become a member of the LCEDC and join us as we prepare for the future of Lancaster County. You can pledge your company’s support at one of many affordable levels, and enjoy the benefits that the LCEDC can offer you and your business.
The more you invest– the greater the return.
