About Us
The Lancaster County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC) is a 501-C4 organization that was formed in 1986 by Lancaster County leaders to recruit new business and industry to the County, increase employment and investment, and provide programs and services to existing business and industry.
The LCEDC is governed by a 17-member Board of Directors that is made up of 9 public sector appointments and 9 private sector members voted on by the full membership. Kevin Brownlee of Lynches River Electric Cooperative is the current Chairman of the LCEDC Board of Directors.
Keith Tunnell has served as LCEDC President since 1994. Tunnell has more than 12 years of experience in marketing and economic development. His background includes stints with East Tennessee State University, the City of Sevierville, Tennessee; and the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
Tunnell is assisted by Sharon Blackburn and Mary Cloud. Blackburn, who serves as Director of Marketing & Existing Industry, was hired by the LCEDC in 1997 after having spent the previous eight years as Director of the Chester County Chamber of Commerce. Mary Cloud is in her seventh year as the the LCEDC Administrative Assistant.
The LCEDC is made up of local allies including real estate brokers, developers, vendors, service providers, professionals, utilities, governmental entities, and individuals interested in promoting Lancaster County and assisting the LCEDC staff with marketing and existing business and industry services.
LCEDC membership has several levels based on annual dues paid the corporation. These dues support the many programs and services offered by the LCEDC including recruitment of new business and industry.
